1995 Crossmen Color Guard staff • 1994 Crossmen

To a beautiful, caring, passionate, and fierce person, Michelle Owens.

You have always been that person who everyone looked up to because of your love, energy, and personality. I remember first meeting you coming to the Crossmen in 1994. I was so happy you decided to march your age out year with a brand new guard staff. You trusted us, supported us, and gave so much to those you marched with. You were such a natural leader; you provided by example and led the others with grace and beauty. It was so wonderful to have you join the team in 1995 as a part of the color guard staff. We made great connections and established new bonds of friendship within our staff. You took that next step as an instructor in drum corps showing those sabres how to really release their equipment ☺. Everyone loved you because you did not ask him or her to do anything you yourself didn’t do. You were a true educator. You have spent the majority of your life giving to others, helping, guiding, and sharing your love of this activity. You gave back to others exactly what you got out of it yourself.

Your talent as a performer was just as equal on the floor as it was off. How fortunate are we to have been able to know you like this. Such a class act! Your students that have been under your wing received love, guidance, drive, and urgency to be their best because you cared. Those are qualities that will always be you and in the hearts of all of us who knew you. Please know that gift you gave will be in fact passed on. There will continue to be those students you taught that will pass on what you tirelessly and passionately gave them. Michelle, you are such a beautiful, graceful person that will be missed by all but never forgotten. Your legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of us all. We love you Michelle.
