As with many others, Michelle Owens made a lasting impression on me, my person and my life. She imparted to me confidence in myself, perseverance when facing challenges, that a positive outlook can make all the difference, compassion is to be valued, and that there is strength in optimism. Michelle challenged me, believed in me, made me laugh, celebrated with me, and consoled me. She was a coach, an instructor, a cheerleader, a mentor, and above all, a friend. My experience with Michelle, though special to me, was not unique. She taught, valued, and loved so many. The world is a better, brighter place because Michelle's light touched so many lives. I am a better person because I was lucky to have her touch mine. I hope to always reflect the light she shared with me. May we all reflect Michelle's light out into the world.
