Michelle was the best person I knew. She was always so thoughtful and caring. She always asked how I was doing, even in the midst of her own fight with cancer. I was blown away with how she could be so concerned for others when I knew the battle she was fighting, but that’s why she is the best person I have ever known.
I am going to remember all the fun times we had at DCI over the years. She would always meet up with me, Jay, and Aaron at Shula’s Steakhouse to eat blackened steak tips and drink vodka cranberries. We would gossip and share
stories about what was going on in each of our lives. She always loved when I showed pictures of Maggie dressed up in her Halloween costumes.
A few summers ago Cadets were at Western Carolina rehearsing and Jay and I showed up. It was really hot, and I was not in the mood to sit and watch rehearsal. Michelle happened to be there too, so I grabbed her and said let’s get out of here. She said, ok, what do you want to do. I said let’s go do something really bad like go to Dairy Queen and eat blizzards. We spent the next hour or two sitting at Dairy Queen in the air conditioning eating a blizzard and having the best time. That is how I am going to remember Michelle, my friend who was always smiling, happy, and up for an adventure, even if it was just to Dairy Queen!
