Crossmen Color Guard 2000-2001-2002

I remember when I met Michelle. . . my flight was delayed for the

Crossmen 2000 April camp so I arrived at the school as they were

wrapping things up for the night. I was terrified to walk in late to this new drum corps, and a room full of people I hadn’t met yet, including my caption head Michelle. She welcomed me with a smile, we all know the one, and exclaimed oh my goodness you’re so pretty. I couldn’t help but smile in return as someone as beautiful as Michelle paid me that compliment. I distinctly remember somewhere in there getting a sportsmanlike slap on the butt as part of my welcome. Needless to say she made an impression on me that night and I’ve spent the last 16 years completely in awe of her beauty, her grace, her kindness and her

magnetism. I am a better person for having known her, having been taught by her, but I am grateful for every moment I had with her.
